Peter Lydon successfully moves between commercials and high profile TV drama.

For television he has directed popular favourites like Shameless, Teachers, Secret Diary of a Call Girl and Vincent. He won a Royal Television Society Award for his period drama Garrow’s Law for BBC1. He recently directed a feature length episode of Poirot for ITV.

Peter has written and directed several prize winning short films. His latest Dating Eliza won 3 awards at the LA Comedy Festival including Best Short Film. And has voted audience favourite at 5 festivals around the world.

He cut his directing teeth as a documentary maker with award winning films for BBC Arena and The South Bank Show. His three-part biography of Peter Sellers was BAFTA nominated and won several major awards in the US.

As a commercials director he has clocked up ads for brands like Carlsberg, Ikea, Sky and VW. His work blends great comic performances with a cinematic eye. 

His Samsung commercial for Leo Burnett Sydney and featuring Hodor from Game of Thrones won over half a dozen awards globally including 3 Cannes Lions in 2016.

He has also carved out a reputation directing commercials with big stars, stars like Al Pacino, Benedict Cumberbatch, Joanna Lumley, Michael Caine and Scarlet Johansson. He has just finished working in Copenhagen with Mads Mikkelsen for Carlsberg.
